GOALS AND EXPECTATIONS |
Student use of the Internet is under the direction and supervision of the teacher or support staff. Parents/Guardians may also play a part in supervising appropriate uses outside of the school. Under school supervision, the rationale for student use is based on the importance of achieving the following goals.
Learn the basic procedures and skills to log onto a host computer.
Demonstrate a knowledge of telecommunications technology and how it may be used to enhance classroom activities and learning.
Practice good net-skills by being polite and considerate, and closing unneeded Internet connections.
Learn to participate in discussion forums, listservs, conferences and so on where appropriate.
Learn to use search tools to locate and research curriculum related activities, assignments, and projects.
Learn to utilize e-mail for individual or group use.
Respect the rights of others and adhere to the laws of Saskatchewan and Canada.
